The Kuku Yalanji are the Indigenous inhabitants of the land which stretches from Cooktown in the north, to Chillagoe in the west, and Port Douglas in the south. They are true rainforest people who live in harmony with the environment. Their culture has always involved a deep respect for nature and an intimate knowledge of its cycles.
The Dreamtime Art Gallery presents artwork created by Kuku Yalanji artists. The experienced gallery staff are keen to share their traditional knowledge, stories, history and art and craft with visitors.Artwork from Mossman Gorge that will be on display and for sale at the Cairns Indigenous Art Fair will include: fine art print editions; etchings; lithographs; monoprints; rainforest shields; bronzes; and textiles.
